Do I have to wait for my workers compensation to be settled before applying for Social Security Disability Benefits?

because I have a case in process now with my job for the injury of my knee, should I wait until the case has been settled before applying for disability?

It may be possible to receive Social Security Disability benefits and Workers Compensation at the same time but your Social Security Disability benefits or your workers compensation benefits may be offset.

If you receive workers’ compensation or if your workers compensation claim has not been settled, it is imperative that you talk to a work comp lawyer or a disability lawyer who understands your states laws to find out the impact of disability on your workers’ compensation case prior to applying for SSD benefits.
